YuchiKiokee Festival At The Evans Towne Center Park

On Saturday, March 21 and 22, the Columbus Day festival at the Evans Towne Center Park will be re-created into the first ever YuchiKiokee Festival. This year because of competing events, the availabilty of vendors and other activities the annual Columbus Day festival will now be at a different date and will encompass more of the areas art and culture into the first ever YuchiKiokee Festival the the Evans Towne Center Park. This will be a two day event with music, arts and a whole lot more! The Columbia County Arts will be participating along with many other great talent from across the CSRA area.

You probably have noticed that the name of the festival is very unique. Why did they decide to call it YuchiKiokee Festival? The festival was named YuchiKiokee from the county's first settlers, the native americans. Columbia County was first inhabited by the Yuchi tribe and the Kiokee tribe, hence the well-known creeks we all have to cross in the county. The name of the festival combines both tribes since they both were inhabitants of this great county. Come out and experience the first ever YuchiKiokee Festival!
